Heller 55th Anniversary Celebration
Marty Krauss, Event Chair
Marty W. Krauss, PhD'81  •   Honorary Chair

From the day she enrolled as a doctoral student at Heller, Marty has made Brandeis University her professional home for more than thirty years. She has played a central role in several phases of the growth and evolution of Heller, always upholding the values that fuel our teaching and research. Her professional commitment to the field of disability policy makes her selection all the more fitting to chair our 55th anniversary focused on "achieving equity of access and opportunity."

Marty spent her entire career at Brandeis University.  She is a graduate of the Heller School and joined the faculty in 1984. Her research focused on the impacts on families, social services, and public policy of having a family member with intellectual disabilities.  She was the director of the Starr Center for Mental Retardation and served as Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Programs at the Heller School. In 2003, she was appointed as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs for Brandeis University.  She retired from the faculty in 2012.
